Rafael — a hereditary Shipibo curandero
An Indigenous Amazonian people from Peru, the Shipibo are keepers of one of the oldest living shamanic traditions, their knowledge of the sacred master plants is carried through families for generations.
Maestro Rafael works alongside two facilitators, trained in the Shipibo tradition, each with 10+ years in Amazonian ceremonial practice, supporting your journey with presence and care.
Deep work with your intention
August 24–28, 2026 · Bali
Day 1 · Settling in
Arriving at a private estate villa deep in the Bali jungle, your base for the days ahead. Lunch together, sharing circle, your first meeting with the maestro. As night falls, the 1st ceremony begins, and with it, the Shipibo dieta, the traditional plant diet that supports the work.
Day 2 · Going deeper
Daytime rest, private time with the shaman & rapé. After sunset, we gather in the sacred circle for the 2nd and deepest ceremony.
Day 3 · Rest & rejuvenate
The jungle, the pool, food made to nourish, a massage on request, and a traditional Amazonian plant bath, a day for deep physical integration.
Day 4 · The closing ceremony
The 3rd and final ceremony. After sunset, the circle gathers one last time, and by morning, the Shipibo dieta closes, and the work of the week settles into place.
Day 5 · Farewell
A slow breakfast together, and a final circle to share what you're carrying home.

Care & screening
Screening · before your seat is confirmed. A health review by call or text, whichever suits you, your situation, your intention, your health and any medications. It’s how we see whether we’re the right fit for each other. Full honesty protects you and the whole circle, please share all relevant health details with us fully. Read the contraindications →
Preparation · 2–4 weeks before. Once you’re through screening, you receive a full guide and begin easing certain foods out of your diet, red meat, fermented foods, and a few others. This is also the time to set your intention.
You’ll be held
A one-hour integration call within a month of the retreat, and guidance on carrying the work into daily life. The ceremony is one night; integration is where it becomes yours.

Where and when does the retreat take place?
The retreat takes place August 24–28, 2026 at a private luxury villa in a quiet, secluded part of Bali, in a circle of up to 10 guests. The exact address and arrival details are shared once your booking is confirmed.
What does the fee include?
The fee is $4,500 per guest for 5 days / 4 nights, all inclusive: a private room at a luxury villa, three traditional ceremonies, individual work with the maestro, meals following the traditional Shipibo diet, massage on request, a preparation guide and call, and an integration call after the retreat. Flights and transfers are not included.
How does payment work?
A $2,000 deposit reserves your seat; the remaining $2,500 is paid on arrival day, before the first ceremony. We accept Wise, PayPal, Zelle and USDT. Payment and transfer fees are covered by the guest.
What if I cannot come? Is there a refund?
You receive a full refund when cancelling 30 or more days before the start, and a 50% refund at 14–30 days. Closer to the date, your seat can be transferred to another person in coordination with us. Transfer fees are covered by the guest.
Who leads the retreat?
The retreat is led by Rafael, a hereditary Shipibo maestro who has walked this path for 33 years, trained through years of strict plant dietas with elder masters. Alongside him works a team of facilitators trained within the Shipibo tradition, with 10+ years of experience.
Do I need prior experience?
No prior experience is needed, the retreat suits both first-time guests and experienced practitioners. You receive a detailed preparation guide before the start, the circle opens with a welcome gathering on arrival day, and everything you need to know comes to you gently, step by step.
How do you care for guests during the retreat?
Throughout the retreat you are fully looked after: meals are prepared within the traditional Shipibo diet, massage is arranged on request, and our team is on hand for whatever you need at the villa. During the sacred circles, the maestro and facilitators stay beside you, accompanying you through your deepest moments.
Are there any contraindications?
Yes. Certain psychiatric and cardiovascular conditions, recent surgery, pregnancy, and some medications (including SSRIs) are contraindications. There is no need to work this out on your own, our team holds a preliminary consultation and a health screening with every guest. Please disclose all medications and health details: full honesty is what keeps you and the circle well cared for.
How are guests selected?
After your application we hold a short private video call: we meet, talk through your intention and health background, and answer your questions. It is a two-way choice, you get to know us, and we preserve the intimacy of the ceremonial circle.
Is preparation and a special diet required?
Yes, for 7–10 days before the retreat: no alcohol, no red meat, no heavy or spicy food, no recreational substances. The full preparation guide, covering both the diet and inner preparation, is shared once your screening is complete.
What language is the retreat held in?
The retreat is held in English and Russian, facilitation and translation are included. Rafael speaks Spanish and Shipibo; the icaros are sung in Shipibo.
Can couples attend together?
Yes. When booking, we will ask whether you prefer a shared or separate rooms. During ceremony, each guest has their own place and mat in the shared space.
